Hypnosis is a shrinking of the focus of attention and a state of awareness dominated by the subconscious mind. In facilitating hypnosis my intention is to be a guide showing how to tap into our true creative nature by moving into a deeply relaxed state of consciousness. There is that moment just before you wake up, before you open your eyes…that place that you pass through as you come from a deep sleep state to waking consciousness.
It is a place of great creativity where we sometimes use our imaginations or where we will have a flash of where some item was that we had been searching for.
The conditions I use for hypnosis are trust and rapport, eye closure and relaxation. You cannot impart a suggestion unless the person is willing to take it and the critical thinking mind has given way to suggestions given.
Hypnosis is as old as history. It roots go back to the beginning of man’s questioning of his own nature. Awe, respect and use of trance phenomena have played an invaluable part of every civilization we have studied. Its use is evident among Egyptians, Mayans, Greeks, Native Americans, Africans and Aborigines. For that matter the Indigenous people of this earth have not only acknowledged this ability but have revered and honored those that had the capability of accessing information that was seemingly unavailable to the “average” person!
